And a fun pirate themed page, not using any kit, just supplies from my stash:

Scrapping fun to Share

Well, I think I have finally broken through my slump. I have gotten several pages made, and I am feeling a bit of an urge to craft. The first page I am sharing today is the one that I made for the Master Forger's  2nd challenge on the Counterfeit Kit challenge blog;
How do you like to spend your weekend?

Challenge #2 is "Weekend time"
Interpret that however you like.
I must admit, I was a bit stumped with this one (it's always the easy ones that get us, right?) I finally just started flipping through my pictures, and came up with some pictures from a few years ago of the twins at the playground. It was a little bittersweet to scrap these, as they are now "too old" to play on the playground like they used to, but it was something that I did every year with them when it would first start to get warm outside. These photos may actually be from the last time I took them to a playground, now that I think about it. I almost dreaded it back then, because it would be so hard to get them to leave. It's a good lesson to slow down and appreciate those moments...because they are so fleeting, and I surely miss them. So here is the layout that I did to commemorate those sweet moments at the park:

I also made a layout for the first challenge on the Counterfeit Kit challenge blog:
Challenge #1 is I LOVE PARIS
  • WE all love Paris. capture the mood of Paris in your layout/card/tags. Use iconic buildings from Paris (need I list them?).Add love hearts, lace, whatever you want.
  • I’ve added some ideas to the Pinterest page.
  • They don’t have to feature photos of Paris!

My answer to to this challenge was Epcot France photos: it was the perfect excuse to use some OOOLD Eiffel Tower paper in my stash , which I cut up and used pieces of to embellish my layout:

I love that I have been able to use lots of bits and pieces from this month's kit on these two layouts:

Thanks for stopping by today! I have more scrappy pages that I've done, and can't wait to share them with you! See you back here tomorrow with more scrappy fun!

February 2018 Counterfeit Kit, "Forever Fairytales"

Good morning all! And welcome, February! This month, we were tasked with counterfeiting the the gorgeous (and HUGE) Weekend In Paris Daily Diary kit from Noel Mignon. I have been a fan of these kits for a long time, since before Two Peas went out of business. I made a little bigger kit than I have been making, as I actually got a little scrapping done this past month! I made several page bases, and I ordered a huge batch of pictures from Persnickety Prints, so I will have "fresh" pictures to scrap (finally-that may have contributed to my slump last year. I realized that I hadn't ordered new prints all year). So, on to my February kit. While not quite as large as the Noel Mignon kit, I did manage to pull together a pretty full selection from my stash. I have to say that Valentines papers are some of my favorite to scrap with-I just love the pinks and reds, and the gorgeous patterns-florals and lace. Here is a look at the kit we were given to counterfeit:

What I see, that I want in my kit-

  • Gold Glitter letters
  • Pink, Light blue, Gold, Yellow, with a touch of black
  • Resin shapes
  • Enamel dots
  • Stickers/dimensional Stickers
  • Journaling Cards
After I make a mental list like this, I start pulling papers from my stash, and  usually kind of let the papers guide me. I usually come across one that has a bolder pattern than the rest, and make the kit coordinate around that paper. Here is the kit that I came up with:
